Setting up the TP Link Omada Captive Portal

Access Point Instructions for TP Link Omada (v4)
If you are hosting the Omada controller with a cloud service provider such as Hubox (not TP Link Clould), please ignore this note
Please ensure all ports are open for the Omada Controller see help center below https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/3281/ the Captive WiFi server will directly authenticate the user to the Omada Controller
  • Create a new network
  • After that, create a new captive portal, with vendor TP Link Omada v4
  • Access Point Configuration
  • Configure the Captive Portal under Settings -> Authentication -> Portal.
  • Create New Portal
  • Toggle on the Portal
  • Authentication Timeout - (your choice of time for the WiFi expiry time)
  • NAS ID - (** Use your venue name in one word ie: SohoSushi)
  • Authentication Type = RADIUS Server
  • Radius profile, + Create a new Radius profile
    • Name - captivewifi_radius (or whatever you wish)
    • VLAN Assignment - Disabled
    • Authentication Server IP - get this value from Captive WiFi Support
    • Authentication Port -  1812
    • Authentication Password -  get this value from Captive WiFi Support
    • Radius Accounting - Disabled
  • Press Save 
  • Use the following values:
    • Authentication Mode - PAP
  • Portal Customisation - External Web Portal - https:// getonline.captivewifi.io/guest/<site id> 
    • You can get the Site ID from the Captive WiFi portal under integrations and WiFi Hardware
  • HTTPS Redirection (Do not enable) 
  • Landing Page 
    • You can get the Landing Page from Manage Venue and copy the URL link from Unique ID 
    • Pop over to the Captive WiFi dashboard and paste in your Promotional URL
  • Press Save
  • Select Access Control
    • Enable Pre-Authentication Access
    • Add the following URLs
      • getonline.captivewifi.io    
      • captivewifi.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com    
  • Click Apply 
Head over to the Captive WiFi Dashboard to complete the integration
  • Select Integrations
  • WiFi Hardware
  • Ensure Omada is selected
  • Insert the Omada server (no http or port number please) this must be the EXTERNAL IP Address of your venue
  • NOTE: You must have a static IP, if this is not an option please host your controller at www.hubox.co
