Ruckus One External Captive Portal Setup Guide
Before You Start
Ensure you have the following ready:
- Access to the Ruckus One cloud interface
- Guest portal URL: https://getonline.captivewifi.io/guest/
- IP address of the Captive Wi-Fi server to allow in the Walled Garden
Configuration Steps (Ruckus One)
1. Login to Ruckus One
- Open your browser and log in to the Ruckus One dashboard.
- Click Add > Wi-Fi Networks.
2. Network Details
- Enter a Network Name (e.g., GuestWiFi).
- (Optional) Click Set different SSID to define a different SSID name.
- Enter a Description if necessary.
- Under Network Type, choose Captive Portal.
3. Portal Type
- Select 3rd Party Captive Portal as the portal type.
4. Settings
- In the Portal Provider, select Custom Provider and enter:
- https://getonline.captivewifi.io
- (Optional) Enable Redirect users to and specify a landing page URL after login.
- Note the Integration Key (this is generated by Ruckus One).
- Under Secure your network, set to None (for open guest access).
- Uncheck MAC auth bypass
- Uncheck Encryption for users' MAC and IP addresses
5. Walled Garden / Allowed Domains
- Add the following entries in the Walled Garden field:
- getonline.captivewifi.io
- captivewifi.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com
6. Authentication Service
- Select Accept All Connections.
- (Optional) For RADIUS Server, select Authenticate Service.
7. Venues
- Assign the network to the relevant Venue and activate it.
8. Summary & Apply
- Review all configurations.
- Click Add to save and apply settings to access points.
9. Test the Captive Portal
- Connect a client device to the configured SSID.
- Verify redirection to the external portal and confirm the login process completes successfully.
