Ruijie External Captive Portal Setup Guide


Before You Start

Make sure you have the following ready:

  • Access to the Ruijie Cloud or Controller Web UI
  • Your Ruijie AP(s) powered on and online
  • External portal URL: https://getonline.captivewifi.io/guest/

Configuration Steps (Ruijie Cloud or Controller)

  1. Login to Ruijie Cloud or Controller UI
    • Log in to the Ruijie Cloud portal or local controller.
    • Navigate to the Device Config section and select Wi-Fi under Wireless.
  2. Create or Edit SSID
    • Go to Wireless Settings > Wi-Fi.
    • Create a new SSID or edit an existing one.
    • Set SSID Name (e.g., GuestWiFi).
    • Set Security Mode to Open (no password).
  3. Enable Captive Portal
    • Go to the Auth & Account section.
    • Select Captive Portal under Authentication.
    • Set a Policy Name (any name you choose).
    • Set Policy Mode to External.
    • Set Authentication Device to Ruijie Enterprise AP.
    • Select the Guest SSID you configured.
    • In the Portal Server URL, enter:
      https://getonline.captivewifi.io/guest/
    • In the Portal IP, enter: 
      138.68.152.191
    • Click Ok
  4. Add Allowed Domains (Walled Garden)
    • Navigate to Auth & Account > Allowlist.
    • Add the following domains and IP address:
      • getonline.captivewifi.io
      • captivewifi.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com
  5. Save and Apply Configuration
    • Save the SSID and portal configuration.
  6. Test the Captive Portal
    • Connect a client device to the SSID.
    • Verify that the external captive portal page loads successfully.
